Ein wachsender Anteil der Kraft-Wärme-Kopplung bedeutet zugleich eine Dezentralisierung der Stromerzeugung hin zu Fernwärme-, Nahwärme- und Objektversorgungssystemen. Die damit verbundene Verlagerung der Wertschöpfung zu örtlichen Unternehmen aus den Bereichen Planung, Errichtung, Betrieb und Instandhaltung der Anlagen führt zur Einbindung des Handwerks und zur Stärkung des Mittelstandes. Dies sichert und schafft Arbeitsplätze.
Der Bundesverband Kraft-Wärme-Kopplung fördert dieses technische Organisationsprinzip, unabhängig von der Art und der Größe der Anlagen, vom Einsatzbereich und vom verwendeten Energieträger. Ziel ist dabei die Effizienzsteigerung bei der Energieumwandlung zur Schonung von Ressourcen und zur Reduktion umwelt- und klimaschädlicher Emissionen. Irish CHP Association is a representative body for the Combined Heat and Power sector in Ireland, North and South. The Irish CHP Association has now been established to promote greater uptake of CHP, spread information and lobby for appropriate change to the CHP economic and operating environment. The association is broad-based including CHP developers, equipment suppliers, consultants and all other interested organisations and individuals.
